Dig fossils, complete a set and bring it to Dr. Ivy. The developer explicitly connects that complete set to an egg, so this is the clearest preparation route.

The sea reptile egg lead

The official Explore section says to sneak into the Sunken Grotto to take sea reptile eggs. No map route, pickup input or item quantity is specified.

After obtaining a fossil egg

Warm the egg in an incubator. The public description does not give an exact timer, so use the current display for your egg rather than treating another player’s wait as a universal value.
